BELGRADE - Serbian football club Partizan Belgrade has officially named Srdjan Blagojevic as its head coach.
Blagojevic succeeds caretaker head coach Marko Jovanovic, who took over from Savo Milosevic following his resignation in December.
Blagojevic, 51, has signed a contract until the end of the season with an option to extend the deal.
He will be joined by first assistant coach Dejan Fijala and fitness coach Sasa Semeredi.
Blagojevic led Kazakh side Astana to the championship title in the 2021/22 season and has also achieved remarkable results as head coach of Hungarian side Debrecen.
"Coaching Partizan is a great honour and a challenge. Regardless of the circumstances, when they called, I did not have the smallest dilemma. My ambition is to stabilise the team and improve the way we play through hard work and commitment. I am aware of the difficulty of the task and the expectations of the supporters and the public, but I believe that, through joint forces, we can get Partizan back to where it belongs," Blagojevic said.
