Musetti hands Djokovic surprise defeat in Monte Carlo third round

MONTE CARLO - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis, is out of the Monte Carlo Masters after a surprise 6-4, 5-7, 4-6 defeat to Italian Lorenzo Musetti in the third round on Thursday evening.

Musetti won after two hours and 56 minutes of play.

The match was interrupted by a one-hour rain delay.

Musetti will face compatriot Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals on Friday.
