Jokic to play for Serbia at Paris Olympics - web portal

BELGRADE - Denver Nuggets centre Nikola Jokic will play for the Serbia national basketball team at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, the Serbian MaxBet Sport web portal reported on Wednesday.

There is still no official confirmation of this by either Jokic or the Basketball Federation of Serbia.

The report said Jokic was due to arrive in Serbia by the end of the week.

The Serbia team will start preparations for the Olympics at Stara Pazova on June 24.

The Nuggets recently lost 4-3 to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the semi-final series of the NBA Western Conference play-offs.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, Jokic, a three-time NBA MVP, said he did not yet know whether he would play for Serbia at the Paris Olympics, to be held from July 26 to August 11.

In the group stage of the Olympic tournament, Serbia will face the United States, South Sudan and the winner of a qualifying tournament in Puerto Rico.
