BELGRADE - There is a desire for Czech businesspeople to come to Serbia in even greater numbers, as well as to encourage Serbian businesspeople to export to the Czech Republic or invest there, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Wednesday.

At the opening of a Serbian-Czech business forum in Belgrade, Vucic said he was glad to see Czech businesspeople in Belgrade, as well as a large number of Serbian businesspeople interested in cooperation with the Czech Republic.

That shows how advanced the Czech economy is, but also indicates that, slowly but surely, the Serbian economy is recovering, he said, adding that there were no "financial or other macroeconomic risks to investments by Czech businesspeople."

Serbia wants to give a major boost to the level of investments in the country, he said, recalling that the Czech Republic had become the fourth-largest investor in Serbia following recent investments in Telenor, Telenor bank and Knjaz Milos.

"We are the 12th- or 13th-largest trade partner (of the Czech Republic). We can strengthen that although we have more than tripled our bilateral trade over the past ten years," Vucic said.
