Popovic discusses Serbia-UAE economic ties in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI - Serbia's Minister without portfolio in charge of international economic cooperation Nenad Popovic met with UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday to discuss boosting the level of bilateral trade.

The ministers, who met on the sidelines of the Sustainability Week event, agreed there was major potential to further strengthen economic relations, especially in the sectors of new technologies, the food industry and clean energy.

"For Serbia, the UAE represents an exceptional market with enormous potential, above all, for those engaging in the food industry, engineering and leading-edge technologies in digitalisation and sustainable energy. We will be working strongly to increase the volume of our exports," Popovic noted.

Popovic also met with UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber to address cooperation in industry and advanced technologies as well as with Minister of Energy Suhail Al Mazroui and Minister of Climate Change and Environment Abdullah Al Nuaimi to discuss cooperation in the field of clean energy and deepening of bilateral relations, respectively.
