BELGRADE - Serbia registered a 37.6 bln dinar budget surplus between January and July, which is 123.6 bln dinars better than the planned 86 bln deficit, the Ministry of Finance said on Tuesday.
Revenues totalled 1,089 bln dinars, while expenditures amounted to 1,051.4 bln dinars.
A 23.1 bln dinar surplus was registered in July, the ministry said in a statement.
July revenues amounted to 163 bln dinars, with tax revenues totalling 147.1 bln dinars.
VAT and excise duties made up most of the tax revenues, totalling 69.9 bln dinars and 44.1 bln dinars, respectively, while non-tax revenues amounted to 14.6 bln dinars and donations stood at 1.2 bln dinars.
Expenditures totalled 139.9 bln dinars.
Expenditures for employees totalled 33.3 bln dinars, transfers to the pension and disability insurance fund, the national health insurance fund, the military social insurance fund and the national employment service totalled 18.3 bln dinars, with social protection expenditures and capital expenditures at 13.4 bln and 27.8 bln dinars, respectively, and subsidies disbursed at 12 bln dinars.
At general government level, a 58.6 bln dinar fiscal surplus and a 151.4 bln dinar primary fiscal surplus were registered in the first seven months of 2023, the ministry also said.
