BELGRADE - National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic met on Wednesday with a delegation of international investors visiting the Western Balkans.
The meeting was organised by the Bank of America (BOA).
"A number of investors from all over the world - Australia, Singapore, Dubai, Helsinki, London and Boston, had the opportunity to learn directly and in detail about the results achieved by Serbia on the economic front," the NBS said in a statement.
"The Governor pointed out that Serbia’s long-term successful cooperation with international investors is one of the preconditions for the further sustainable growth and success of our country, and that the trust they have shown with their investment (in bonds in domestic and international markets, and FDI) over a number of years obliges Serbia to exercise further responsibility, prudence in its approach and in running of the domestic economy, as well as to continue to ensure a certain, safe and stable investment environment," it said.
"It is noticeable that over the past years, Serbia is increasingly present in the analyses and reports of international analysts, and the messages sent to investors about the advantages of investing in Serbian assets provide strong support and are 'our voice in the world'.
When the second-largest American bank points out that 'Serbian bonds shine', reputable foreign media outlets report it and many investors read it, it is a confirmation for us that we are doing a good job.
Meetings like today’s one are an opportunity for foreign investors to see and experience Serbia in the right way and to assure themselves as to how dedicated and serious we are in our work, which further strengthens our cooperation," Tabakovic noted.
