BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Wednesday many lies had been told about the Banjska incident in the north of Kosovo-Metohija, the biggest one being that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had ordered it.
Petkovic was responding to the so-called Kosovo's interior minister, who has made a claim that Vucic had been directly involved in training for the group that was behind last September's armed attack in Banjska and Zvecan.
"The only existing evidence is the expulsion of Serbs by Kurti and (the so-called Kosovo's interior minister Dzelal) Svecla. Many lies have been told about Banjska, and the biggest one is that Vucic gave the orders. Banjska is a consequence of terror against the Serbs, and you are blaming Vucic because he is preserving peace and looking after his people," Petkovic wrote in a post on X.
