BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday China was a modern and orderly country that was developing at a fast pace and that a group of Serbian secondary school and university students to visit China as part of an international cultural exchange programme would have an exceptional opportunity to learn something they would remember all their lives.
"For them, this is an exceptional opportunity to learn something about the birth of civilisation, about how and at what pace today's China and a good part of Asia, or all of it, are developing and, at the same time, to see the extent to which China is a modern and orderly country and how much we can learn from China and how much we can get by cooperating with China," Vucic said at a Palace of Serbia reception for the students.
"What you will see and learn in Chinese cities, as well as at Chinese factories and companies, is something you will remember all your lives," he told the students.
Quoting Chinese President Xi Jinping, Vucic said young people were "the hope and the future" of a country and that they should have high ambitions and a sense of responsibility and invest tireless efforts to make their dreams come true.
Chinese Ambassador to Belgrade Li Ming said the Serbian students would have an opportunity to learn about China's ancient traditions as well as about its progress and modern development in all fields.
