NOVI PAZAR - Responding to a comment by the PM of Croatia, Serbian PM Milos Vucevic said on Tuesday a Croatian spy recently arrested in Belgrade was no "Yeti" and that, if it wanted to know his identity, Croatia's intelligence agency should check the list of its agents to see who was missing.
Vucevic said this in Novi Pazar, southwestern Serbia, when asked by reporters about Andrej Plenkovic's statement that reports about a Croatian spy arrested in Belgrade were "unserious" and that the spy was a "Yeti."
Vucevic added that he had told Plenkovic at the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia that proceedings had been launched against one person for illicit activities in favour of Croatia that posed a threat to Serbia's national security.
He noted that he had not revealed the spy's identity to Plenkovic.
"He is not a Yeti and, unfortunately, he engaged in things that are illegal. Their intelligence agency should take a look at the list of its 'corresponding members' to see who has not turned up to pick up their salary and is not reporting back. The proceedings are under way in accordance with the law and all international laws, he (the arrested spy) is under proceedings and has all the rights any citizen has before the investigative authorities of the Republic of Serbia," Vucevic said.
He added that Serbia would release details about the case when it saw fit.
