KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - A protest over an arrest of four young Serb men was held outside the police station in northern Kosovska Mitrovica on Wednesday morning.
The protesters, who included the arrestees' family members, blew whistles and chanted "Release our children", holding banners that read "Kurtiland police" and "Is the EU concerned?"
Representatives of Srpska lista - a political organisation of Kosovo-Metohija Serbs - were also present.
The four were arrested in the northern part of the town on Tuesday around midnight and placed in detention for up to 48 hours on suspicion of allegedly attacking an "official on duty."
A video posted on social media networks following the arrest shows an officer of the so-called Kosovo Police armed with a rifle brutally detaining one of the young Serbs.
Rade Nedeljkovic, father of Rastko, one of the arrestees, said on Wednesday there was no official information about the four for the time being.
"We have no reliable information and we have neither been able to see them nor hear what condition they are in," Nedeljkovic told reporters, adding that, according to some information, the four had been brutally beaten up.
