BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric said on Monday Serbia was not satisfied with the international community's reaction to the repression by the Albin Kurti regime against Serbs in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija.
Even though Kurti's actions have drawn a series of condemnations and verbal criticism from many quarters, in practice, no one has prevented his regime from pressuring and persecuting the Kosovo-Metohija Serbs in the worst possible way, Djuric told Happy TV.
"We cannot be too satisfied with the reaction of the international community to Kurti's behaviour in the past two years. I can never be satisfied with the position of the Serbs in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija in circumstances where there are no functioning cash operations or normal trade," Djuric said.
Commenting on Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's speech at a recent UN General Assembly session, Djuric said Vucic had spoken clearly and unequivocally about principles and standards that must be the same for all, about UN principles and the threat that abandoning those principles would pose to the international community and peace in the world.
"Believe me, many want to sweep under the carpet what is being done to Serbs in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija and to hide their plight and the truth about the Serbs in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija. For that reason, this - and any speech in the UN - is a phenomenal opportunity for us," Djuric noted.
