Djuric: Serbian exports to China worth 6.6 bln dollars

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric said on Thursday Serbia strongly supported China's Belt and Road initiative and noted that Serbian exports to China were worth 6.6 bln dollars a year.

Addressing a conference titled Dialogues On China, Djuric said Serbia maintained a neutral position and friendly relations with all countries.

He noted that Serbia had become the first European country to build firm relations and a strategic partnership with China and that the presidents of the two countries maintained an exceptionally friendly relationship.

He highlighted all the advantages of future cooperation as a result of a Serbia-China FTA signed during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Belgrade earlier this year.

Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming said China was committed to global peace, security and progress.

He confirmed Serbia had been the first to build a community with China and was building a bright future that would be a model of good relations between the two countries.

He thanked Chinese companies in Serbia for supporting the Sino-Serbian cooperation through their operations in the country.
