BELGRADE - Serbian PM Milos Vucevic on Friday met with Caroline Ziadeh, head of UNMIK - the UN Mission in Kosovo-Metohija - to discuss the current situation in Serbia's autonomous province.

Vucevic raised concerns over the situation in Kosovo-Metohija and Pristina's unilateral moves, which he said were not contributing to a calming of tensions but making the position of Serbs in the province more difficult and leading to destabilisation across the region, the Serbian government said in a statement.

Vucevic noted that, on a daily basis, Pristina's PM Albin Kurti continued the pressure and terror against the Serbs as his message to them was that they could not remain and survive in Kosovo-Metohija.

Vucevic added that an anti-Serb policy was the only political agenda Kurti was offering to his voters ahead of elections slated for February 2025 as he lacked an economic and social agenda.

Vucevic said his government persevered in solving all challenges and would remain committed to preservation of peace and stability in the interest of the entire region, and that Pristina must be put under international pressure to get its dialogue with Belgrade to continue and to stop the terror against the Serbs.

Ziadeh voiced concerns over developments affecting the economic and social rights of the Serbs and other non-Albanians in Kosovo-Metohija and noted that it was important to resolve all issues within the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
