BELGRADE - Serbian Railway Infrastructure Acting Director Jelena Tanaskovic resigned from her post on Wednesday over the November 1 tragedy at the Novi Sad railway station, Tanjug learns.
"It was an honour to join the team at the invitation of President Aleksandar Vucic and take part in all the great deeds that have gone down in Serbia's recent history. Everything that has been achieved for our country will be talked about by, and the pride of, generations to come," Tanaskovic wrote in a letter of resignation to PM Milos Vucevic.
She thanked Vucevic and all cabinet members for their trust and support during her term in office.
She assumed the post in May this year after serving as agriculture minister in the previous Serbian government.
An overhang collapse at the railway station killed 15 people.
