PRISTINA - Caroline Ziadeh, the head of UNMIK - the UN mission in Kosovo-Metohija - on Thursday expressed concern over Pristina's closure of Serbian institutions south of the Ibar River.

Ziadeh is "concerned about the impact of these closures on the daily lives of individuals, especially those from non-majority communities, who directly depend on these institutions," UNMIK said in a statement.

"Such unilateral actions risk further erosion of trust between communities and Kosovo authorities. Ziadeh reiterates her calls for outstanding issues to be discussed constructively and in good faith within EU-facilitated Dialogue.

She urges all to work towards negotiated and sustainable solutions for the well-being and security of all people in Kosovo as the only acceptable path ahead," the statement also said.

The so-called Kosovo Police raided and closed all buildings of Serbian government institutions and Post of Serbia offices south of the Ibar River in Kosovo-Metohija on Wednesday morning.
