Vucic awards Order of Serbian Flag 1st Class to WEF president

DAVOS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic awarded the Order of the Serbian Flag 1st Class to World Economic Forum (WEF) President Borge Brende in Davos on Tuesday.

"I am honoured to present this Order to the WEF president as a recognition for his exceptional contribution to global economic cooperation, advancement of mutual relations and creating sustainable solutions to the challenges of the contemporary world," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.

He noted that, under Brende's leadership, the WEF had become a key platform for debating global challenges, as well as an opportunity to advance economic relations and dialogue.

In the past ten years, Serbia knew how to make use of that for the benefit of the country and its people, he added.

"We have learned much here and made significant contacts that have opened up paths of cooperation, economic progress and investment in Serbia. This Order also symbolises our commitment to development of international ties and to contributing to global stability and prosperity," Vucic noted.
