DAVOS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with the EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues Miroslav Lajcak at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday to discuss the situation in the region and, especially, security challenges faced by Kosovo-Metohija Serbs, as well as the future of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

"I thanked the EU special representative for the cooperation to date and I wished him success in his further career," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.

He added that he had reiterated a call to the EU and its member states to step up their engagement and influence in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija and ensure the right to free life, justice and vote to the Kosovo-Metohija Serbs.

Lajcak's term as the EU's special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue expires on January 31.
