BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Wednesday pardoned 13 people detained during protest blockades in the country.
The people pardoned under presidential decisions are six students - D B, M M and M K from Novi Sad, I B from Pozega, R S from Sremska Kamenica and M S from Zabalj - university dean N J from Nis, associate professor R J from Novi Sad, four school principals - B M from Sabac, M E from Bogatic and M I and S M J from Sabac - and V M, an auxiliary worker at a Prokuplje school.
The decisions have been submitted to the Ministry of Justice for execution of further procedure, the Presidency of Serbia said in a statement.
The pardons were proposed by the justice minister on Monday and unanimously adopted by the Commission on Pardons on Wednesday.
In a public address on Tuesday evening, Vucic announced he would pardon the detainees to meet the only demand of student protesters that had not been met.
