BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic reiterated on Thursday that no sound cannon had been used at a March 15 protest in Belgrade and that she believed that what had happened at the rally had been caused by panic.

"To me, it looked like panic, because you can clearly see some people standing in the middle of the street and a gentleman picking up a backpack, slowly putting it on his back and continuing to walk down the street. Is he, along with 3.5 million ears, immune to a vortex - since you say there were 1.6 million people at the protest - so no protection was needed? I think it was panic," Brnabic said at a press conference in the parliament building, in response to questions from N1 and Insajder reporters.

He said N1 had unsuccessfully "pumped March 15 as being the D-Day", taking advantage of student protesters, and was now claiming some kind of device had been used at the protest.

"Stop lying, everyone in Serbia knows you are lying, and now even a Genasys (US-based manufacturer of equipment purchased by Serbian police in 2021) statement is not sufficient for you," she said.

"The video and audio evidence we have seen and heard thus far does not support the use of an LRAD (long-range audio device) during the March 15th incident in Belgrade, Serbia," Genasys has said earlier in a post on X.
