BELGRADE - Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic on Wednesday refuted a Reuters report about alleged Serbian exports of arms and military equipment to Ukraine.
"Minister Dacic said that, in line with internal and international legal acts, the Republic of Serbia does not export arms or military equipment to any country in cases where doing so would enable outbreaks or continuation of armed conflicts, endanger the maintenance of regional peace and security, or threaten its own defence interests," the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Serbia adheres to its policy of military neutrality and implements the conclusions adopted by its National Security Council in February last year, Dacic noted.
He once again underscored that "there have been no arms exports from Serbia to either side in the conflict since the beginning of the Russian invasion on Ukraine," the statement said.
Dacic pointed out that "permits for exports of arms and military equipment from the Republic of Serbia are issued exclusively to buyers with end-user certificates that, among other provisions, contain a clause that the end-user cannot re-export arms or military equipment without the consent of the relevant institutions of the Republic of Serbia," the statement said.
