BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Orlic said on Monday destructive behaviour by Pristina's PM Albin Kurti continued in Kosovo-Metohija.

"Kurti's intention to spark an escalation and a conflict, to destroy peace, avoid his commitments and get rid of the Serbs - which is his ultimate objective - is now clear. Every day, he keeps saying he will never form a Community of Serb Municipalities while he also keeps telling foreigners that he will, and that is how he is distracting everyone around him," Orlic told Pink TV.

Kurti's way of thinking is that, if there were no Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, there would be no obligations to them either, Orlic said, noting that Serbia would not allow that to materialise, as confirmed at Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's recent meeting with Kosovo Serb representatives in Raska, central Serbia.

"Vucic said at the time that Serbia is ready to preserve peace but that, in case they (Pristina) go for eliminating the Serbs, our state will not allow that to happen. Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija have a state that is behind them, the state of Serbia is behind everything they are requesting and it has the strength and the capacity to stand behind them," Orlic said.
