BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said at an extraordinary press conference on Thursday the so-called Kosovo Police had once again entered the territory of central Serbia and had been spotted 500 metres from the administrative line between central Serbia and Kosovo-Metohija.

Footage corroborating the claims was shown at the conference.

"The purpose of this conference is to present smoking-gun evidence confirming once again how brutally Albin Kurti and Pristina are violating UNSCR 1244 and the Military Technical Agreement," he said.

"There is no place for them (the so-called Kosovo Police) in central Serbia, and they went in with a police car and armed to the teeth," Petkovic said.

He said a police officer manning a checkpoint had spotted a vehicle of the so-called Kosovo Police moving fast from the direction of Karacevo towards the Breznica village.

Petkovic said the vehicle had been chasing a white van.

The van then took a turn towards the village, he added.

"A Dacia car of the so-called Kosovo Police with licence plate number 27202 stopped at the place where it turned and the officer in the front passenger seat got out and watched the van drive away. As soon as the so-called Kosovo Police officers stopped at the turn, they were spotted by Serbian police and our police officers went towards them to stop them from messing around in central Serbia," Petkovic said.

When they realised they were spotted by Serbian police, the police officer got back into the vehicle and they returned towards Karacevo, he added.

"What would have happened had our police officers not spotted the vehicle of the so-called Kosovo Police? Obviously, they would have continued towards the Brezovica village, where they would continue to mess around in the territory of central Serbia. There is no place for them in the territory of central Serbia, just like there was none on June 14, when they were located by Serbian police officers, and also arrested because they were found with long weapons and other equipment on them," Petkovic said.
