BELGRADE - Serbia and Russia will build even better relations in the future, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic wrote in the guestbook of the Russian House - the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Belgrade - on Wednesday.
"I am happy to have had an opportunity to visit the Russian House and learn a lot about the culture of our Russian friends, and confirm the traditional and firm friendship between the Serbs and the Russians. I am confident that, in the future, we will have the strength to build even better relations. I wish you success in your work," Vucic's note read.
During the visit, Vucic highlighted bilateral cooperation in culture and noted that he also had a personal relationship with the Russian House as he used to go there as a boy.
"When I was five or six years old, my father - who is, by the way, a sincere and great Russophile - used to bring me here," he said.
Vucic noted that he was not one of those who admired Russian culture while despising Russia's policy.
"It is our duty to respect our friends," he said.
Vucic received a painting of the Russian House, a book and a membership card of the institution's library.
