BELGRADE - Serbia is firmly committed to accelerate its EU accession but expects the clear signals of support from the EU on that path, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said at a meeting with Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Belgrade on Monday.
"I said Serbia is firmly committed to continue and accelerate its EU path, that we are thankful to Greece for its support and that this is not just a formal sentence used by politicians as a crutch phrase but that this is substantial for our country," Vucic said later at a press conference with Mitsotakis.
He said the meeting with the Greek PM had also addressed the PEM Convention, green lanes and the Growth Agenda.
"But at the same time I also said I understand Europe is not always happy with all our moves, as well as that Europe must also understand that we expect strong signals of support for Serbia on its path," Vucic noted.
