Vesic: I will officially resign as minister on Tuesday

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic announced he would on Tuesday officially resign from his post in the wake of a tragic accident in which a roof overhang collapse at the Novi Sad railway station killed 14 people and seriously injured three others on Friday.

"Tomorrow morning, I will officially tender my resignation as minister of transport, construction and infrastructure to the PM of the Republic of Serbia," Vesic told an extraordinary press conference in the Serbian government building.

He also said his caretaker role in charge of the ministry would end as soon as the parliament took note of his resignation.
