KARYES - Serbian PM Milos Vucevic on Wednesday visited the Serbian Orthodox Monastery of Hilandar, which is celebrating the Feast of the Entry of the Most Holy Mother of God into the Temple, and noted that Serbia was helping the renovation of one of the greatest Serbian holy sites.
"On the day of the Entry of the Most Holy Mother of God into the Temple, I visited one of the greatest Serbian holy sites, the Hilandar monastery, which is celebrating its feast today. It is a great blessing to be on the sacred soil of Hilandar, with monks and neophytes who are preserving the Serbian customs, religion and tradition," Vucevic wrote in an Instagram post.
Hilandar is located on Mount Athos.
The PM noted that Serbia was helping the renovation of the monastery, demonstrating that spiritual renewal and a return to the Serbian identity was equally important to it as economic growth and progress.
"In these difficult times, unity of the state, the people and the church is much needed by us. As long as our Serbia walks the path of St Sava, and as long as it is guided by the beacon in the Aegean Sea, on our Mount Athos, Serbia will be on the right path and will not be able to stray away!" Vucevic added in the post.
