BELGRADE - Serbian police, in cooperation with the Special Public Prosecutor's Office for High-Technology Crime, have identified and found two teenagers from Belgrade suspected of ordering bomb alerts that have recently been sent to their schools in the Serbian capital.
The two, aged 14 and 15, are suspected of using a specially created group on an internet gaming platform to order the bomb alerts from other minors previously identified by police as the authors of over 80 bomb threats emailed to educational and other institutions in Serbia and the region, the Serbian Interior Ministry said in a statement.
At the same time, the two discussed anonymity protection methods on the internet with other users of the platform.
Criminal charges have been filed against them on suspicion of the criminal offence of causing panic and disorder, while their parents will face criminal charges on suspicion of the criminal offence of neglect and abuse of a minor.
In coordination with the Serbian Interior Ministry, police of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Tuzla Canton have found and identified another minor suspected of using the same platform to order bomb alerts that have been sent to an educational institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
