MILAN - Serbian football champions Red Star Belgrade suffered a 4-0 away defeat to Inter Milan in a UEFA Champions League Match Day 2 game on Tuesday evening.
Inter, who adeptly punished all mistakes by the visitors, now have four points from two matches, while Red Star are still without points.
In front of more than 60,000 spectators at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Inter took the lead through a Hakan Calhanoglu free kick in the 11th minute.
Marko Arnautovic doubled the advantage for Inter in the 59th minute after a blunder by Red Star's Rade Krunic - who lost possession of the ball 20 yards from his own goal - and a subsequent assist by Mehdi Taremi.
Inter captain Lautaro Martinez, who came on as a substitute, scored the third goal for the hosts in the 71st minute following another assist by Taremi, who robbed Red Star captain Uros Spajic of possession and passed the ball to the Argentine.
Taremi made it 4-0 from a penalty kick in the 81st minute after a Vanja Drkusic foul on Martinez in the Red Star penalty box.
