MILAN - Serbian football champions Red Star Belgrade lost 2-1 away to Italian giants Milan in a UEFA Champions League Match Day 6 encounter on Wednesday evening.

Milan took the lead through a Rafael Leao goal in the 42nd minute.

Red Star equalised through Nemanja Radonjic in the 67th minute but Tammy Abraham scored the winner for Milan in the 87th minute.

Red Star appealed for the goal to be disallowed due to an apparent foul by a Milan player, but it was allowed to stand following a VAR review.

Red Star are in the 31st place of the Champions League table with three points won, while Milan are in the 12th position with 12 points.

Red Star next host PSV on January 21.
