LEIPZIG - Red Star Belgrade lost 3-1 away to RB Leipzig in their UEFA Champions League Group G Matchday 3 game on Wednesday evening.

David Raum, Xavi Simons and Dani Olmo provided the goals for the German side in the 12th, 59th and 84th minute, respectively.

Marko Stamenic scored the only goal for the Serbian champions in the 70th minute.

Once again, Red Star goalkeeper Omri Glazer produced several outstanding saves.

Red Star were given a penalty in the 28th minute after what looked like a foul on Peter Olayinka by Castello Lukeba but the decision was reversed following a VAR check.

In the other Group G game, Manchester City defeated Young Boys 3-1 away from home.

Manchester City are on top of the group table with nine points and are followed by RB Leipzig with six and Young Boys and Red Star with one point each.

Red Star will next play RB Leipzig at home on November 7, with Manchester City to host Young Boys.
