BELGRADE - As announced on Thursday, the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) Executive Board extended full support to the head coach of the Serbia men's national football team, Dragan Stojkovic, on Friday.
In a statement, the FSS said that at a video meeting, following Stojkovic's detailed report on the Eagles' performance at EURO 2024 in Germany, the Board had confirmed its confidence in Stojkovic, giving him full support to pursue the next set of objectives with the national team in the upcoming UEFA Nations League campaign, where the focus will be on better team play and preparations for the World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
The report was adopted unanimously and Stojkovic informed FSS President Dragan Dzajic and the Board members of plans for the coming period, announcing major squad changes for September, when Serbia will host Spain and travel to Denmark in Nations League Division A.
In the report, Stojkovic said Serbia had suffered a failure at EURO 2024 but not a debacle as minor things had prevented the team from reaching the knockout stage of the competition.
