Vucic receives Serbia boxing teams after historic European success

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic hosted a reception on Thursday for the Serbia national boxing teams that collectively won a historic 20 medals at the recent European championships in Belgrade.

The women's team claimed a total 11 medals, including three gold medals (Sara Cirkovic, Nataliya Shadrina and Kristina Kaluhova), while the men's team took nine medals, including one gold medal, won by Jovan Nikolic.

The reception was also attended by Minister of Sport Zoran Gajic and a delegation of the Serbian Boxing Federation, headed by President Nenad Borovcanin.

"Thank you for the great joy you have brought to our country and our people by finishing in second place overall, right behind Russia and ahead of Turkey," Vucic told the medalists.
