MARRAKESH - A Serbian delegation headed by National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali will attend the Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group, held from October 9 through 15 in Marrakesh, Morocco.
The delegation will also attend the meeting of the Swiss Constituency, which includes Serbia, as well as hold bilateral meetings with the IMF-WBG management and representatives to discuss current and expected macroeconomic developments in Serbia, the NBS said in a statement.
"Bilateral meetings are planned also with representatives of financial institutions and corporations, investors and other interested partners so as to present Serbia’s investment opportunities, economic potential and the reforms implemented with a view to attracting FDI.
Key topics during the Annual Meetings will be global economic developments and prospects, with a focus on the challenges of high inflation, rising debt levels and tightened global financial conditions in the context of heightened geopolitical tensions. The strengthening of international cooperation in a fragmented global economic landscape, building of the foundations for an inclusive digital future, as well as the development of capacities to support climate change resilience policies will be discussed as well. The IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva will present the Global Policy Agenda.
In addition to the plenary meeting of the Board of Governors, the Annual Meetings serve as a platform for the meetings of the advisory bodies of the IMF and WBG - the International Monetary and Financial Committee and the joint Development Committee," the NBS also said.
