Brnabic: Serbia a Top 5 country in terms of cooperation with EBRD

LONDON - Serbia is a Top 5 country in terms of cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), PM Ana Brnabic said after meeting with EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso in London on Monday.

Speaking to reporters, Brnabic said signed and ratified Serbia-EBRD agreements were worth around 2.3 bln euros.

"Even today, we continued the cooperation and carried on with new projects. We are continuing the work on projects in the renewables sector, we signed an agreement on the next auction for new megawatts to be generated by green power. We are also working on energy efficiency and green energy projects in long-distance heating systems, but we also have projects related to road and rail infrastructure," Brnabic said.

She said Serbia was also cooperating with the EBRD when it comes to science and technology parks and that the EBRD was providing 70 mln euros for a new stage of building such parks, including 10 mln euros for the BIO4 Campus and future development of biotech and artificial intelligence in Serbia.

"The cooperation with the EBRD also focuses on regional and local roads. That is what Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic especially insists on and what is extremely important to us for further equal and regional development," she noted.
