BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric said Serbia had made major progress in the past several months when it comes to obtaining support from EU member states to accelerate its progress to the EU, and noted that this would be evident at Monday's meeting of EU ambassadors, who will discuss Serbia's request to open Cluster 3.
Djuric said Serbia would be supported from southern Europe - above all, by Greece, a strong backer of its EU integration - all the way to the far north of Europe.
"I have also received immediate information that the Baltic states will give their support, and we know there has been slightly more skepticism there," Djuric told the RTS.
Even though it is seemingly a technical affair, opening a cluster is essentially a political one because you need to persuade 27 EU member states to back the move, he added.
