PRISTINA - Pristina PM Albin Kurti's Self-Determination Movement on Thursday filed an appeal with an election complaints panel against a decision by the central election commission to verify a Srpska lista application to run in the February 9 elections in Kosovo-Metohija, and demanded that the decision be annulled.

Despite the fact Pristina's so-called supreme court has rejected a previous Self-Determination appeal and ordered that the Srpska lista application be certified, Self-Determination said in a statement the commission's decision was contrary to a law on general elections and that any decision by the commission must be voted on by its members, which it claimed had not been the case with the decision to certify the Serb party.

The commission certified the application and a list of Srpska lista election candidates on December 31 after the panel upheld a Srpska lista appeal against a previous decision by the commission and Pristina's so-called supreme court rejected the first Self-Determination appeal.

Srpska lista is the strongest Serb party in Kosovo-Metohija.

Its representatives have said on multiple occasions that Kurti was trying to prevent the party from running in the elections as it was representing and defending the interests of Kosovo-Metohija Serbs.
