KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - In a letter to ambassadors of Quint states and the EU in Pristina and representatives of international missions, Srpska lista said on Friday a recent raid by the Albin Kurti regime on Serbian institutions in Kosovo-Metohija was a unilateral and escalatory move - the most dangerous one since the February 1 ban on the Serbian dinar.

By that move, Kurti's regime has continued a policy of expulsion of Serbs and other non-Albanians by creating, and maintaining, unbearable living conditions with the aim of ultimately expelling the Serbs from the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija, Srpska lista said.

In the letter, seen by Tanjug, the Kosovo-Metohija Serb party requested that international representatives react urgently in a visible, concrete and tangible manner.

"In this situation, mere press releases are provenly inefficient and will not enable the population to live a life worthy of human beings. Should you refuse to do so, be assured that Kurti will not desist from carrying out a policy of expulsion, which will lead to an erosion of the already fragile security situation," Srpska lista said.

Describing the torture faced by Serbs in the province, it said Kurti's recent actions south of the Ibar River had once again proven his hatred of everything that was Serbian, leaving more than 1,100 people without jobs and denying 40,000 people the services once provided by Serbian institutions to make it possible for them to survive in their ancestral homes.

"Specifically, the 28 institutions Kurti mercilessly cracked down on Wednesday were enabling the entire population, without any discrimination whatsoever, to fulfil their basic needs," Srpska lista said.

Even Pristina's prosecution office has said the raid by the so-called Kosovo Police was carried out without its orders, which indicates that the actions are political in nature, it also said.

It added that the presidents of the interim authorities of the Vucitrn and Lipljan municipalities and three other employees of the authorities had been detained in the raid with the sole aim of intimidating the Serb population further.

"All that (Kurti's) Self-Determination is doing to expel the Serbs and other non-Albanians will produce no results because Srpska lista is prepared to use all available legal and democratic means in defence of the fundamental human and collective rights of the Serbs," the party noted.
