BELGRADE - Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar said on Thursday in Belgrade her country would continue to support Serbia on its EU path and that Kosovo must do its part of the job and ensure an implementation of an agreement on a Community of Serb Municipalities.
"As a jurist, I cannot put it in any other way but by appealing for respect of law and for all of us to work on rule of law. Without a doubt, I want the agreement on establishment of a community of Serb municipalities implemented, as agreed in 2013. I see no reason for that not to happen," Pirc Musar said at a joint press conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
She appealed for a continuation of dialogue and de-escalation "in these difficult times for Belgrade and Pristina."
"Kosovo must do its part of the work. I will be travelling to Pristina in October to discuss all topics with Vjosa Osmani. Dialogue, dialogue and only dialogue - we do not want conflicts in the Western Balkans," she noted.
She added that she believed in the European path and that Vucic had "guaranteed that Serbia, too, saw that path."
Speaking about economic cooperation, she said EU member states accounted for 70 pct of Serbia's external trade.
She said the meeting with Vucic had also touched upon the succession issue and that many issues between former Yugoslav republics had been resolved.
