BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Milos Vucevic said on Tuesday that Serbia was a rule-of-law state in which no one was above the law and that the citizens' electoral will could not be annulled because, that way, all values of democracy and a democratic state would be annulled as well.

"All Serbian citizens can rest assured no one will change the citizens' decision made at polling stations because otherwise holding elections would be completely pointless," Vucevic told Prva TV.

He noted that the authorities had analysed all that had happened during Sunday's protests, including attacks on state institutions in Belgrade, as well as what might happen in the near future, in order to safeguard the state and take all necessary measures.

"What we all are concerned by in terms of national security... ...is the situation in Kosovo-Metohija. Kurti is continuing his terror against the Serbs and will not stop, and I am afraid we will have a big problem and a big challenge when it comes to all that," Vucevic said.

"Unfortunately, while we have a situation in Kosovo-Metohija where Serbian property is being broken into and where the pressure on Serbia continues and Serbian churches are being misappropriated, here, we have scenes of attempts to set on fire the Old Palace, a symbol of Serbian statehood," he said.
