BELGRADE - President of Serbia and Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) member Aleksandar Vucic said at the weekend the party's Serbia Must Not Stop electoral list had won an overwhelming victory in repeat elections.
Repeat parliamentary elections were held at 35 polling stations across Serbia on Saturday, with repeat elections for the Belgrade local assembly also held at three polling stations in the capital.
With 70 pct of votes counted, the SNS is winning the repeat elections and there will be "no drastic changes there," Vucic said after the polling stations closed on Saturday evening.
"In any case, we won convincingly at all polling stations in the city (of Belgrade)," he said in a statement from the SNS election headquarters.
He noted that, in case of relatively decent turnout in the January 2 repeat elections and a continued trend of growing popularity of the Serbia Must Not Stop list, it could realistically be expected to have 130 seats in the next parliament.
