BELGRADE - Representatives of the We, A Voice From The People movement said on Thursday they would not support the formation of new city authorities in Belgrade and that they stood by the position that new elections should be held in the capital.

At a press conference following a split with two other founders of the movement, the representatives announced the organisation would continue to exist and evolve into a political party that would not have a president or a typical infrastructure, but a collective leadership made up of the five remaining founders.

"It will have an executive committee and an assembly," said one of the founders, Sinisa Ljepojevic, adding that We, A Voice From The People would continue to rely on the principles adopted and proclaimed in the run-up to the December 17 national and local elections.

"We who have remained in the movement need to learn some lessons from what has happened in the meantime and do some things that could eliminate the majority of the problems," Ljepojevic said.

The press conference was also attended by founders Dragan Stanojevic, Branko Pavlovic, Mitar Кovac and Jovan Janjic.

Janjic said most of the movement's MPs remained loyal to it and that the majority of members supported it.

"We will continue under the same name. We have our own logo and seal protected by the Intellectual Property Institute," Janjic said.

Previously, Branimir Nestorovic, who headed the We, A Voice From The People electoral list in the parliamentary polls, and Aleksandar Pavic left the movement.

Nestorovic said he and his supporters were in the process of forming a new party.
