BELGRADE - Serbia highly appreciates the cooperation with the US, Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic said at a meeting with American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) representatives in Belgrade on Thursday.
The AIPAC delegation was headed by the organisation's President Michael Tuchin.
Vucevic said the process of advancing the bilateral military cooperation with the US was continuing and that, in line with its national interests, Serbia was building partnerships with all relevant international actors, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
Serbia continues to be a responsible and credible partner and, in keeping with its clear political commitment, it will remain a militarily neutral country, he said.
Vucevic noted Serbia held the principled position of supporting the sovereignty of all states and was committed to respect of territorial integrity and political independence.
He noted that the security situation in Kosovo-Metohija was complex and that the multitude of irrational decisions by the Pristina authorities and their constant use of mechanisms of force led to a deterioration of the security situation.
He said Serbia was committed to peaceful resolution of all issues through dialogue with Pristina and full respect of UNSCR 1244 and the Military Technical Agreement and determined to safeguard its sovereignty and the security of its citizens in line with the fundamental principles of international law.
