BELGRADE - Outgoing Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Monday that, as new parliament speaker, she would try to establish dialogue and defuse tensions in society.
"I think that a successful, strong and stable country must have a very serious and responsible government, but it must also have a serious and responsible opposition. Here, you have opposition whose sole objective is to create chaos and destabilisation and it is constantly trying to push some boundaries, rather than discuss solutions and have dialogue," Brnabic said on Pink TV.
She said that, unfortunately, she could not recollect a normal parliament session and a debate.
"All I can remember happening lately are vuvuzelas, whistle-blowing, chaos and performances. From the parliament and their representatives, MPs, the people expect dialogue on legislation and topics that are important for all citizens," Brnabic noted.
