BELGRADE - Serbian PM Milos Vucevic received German Ambassador to Belgrade Anke Konrad on Tuesday to discuss current security topics and bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, noting his concern over the position of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.

Vucevic noted that the partnership with Germany was extremely important and that Serbia was committed to further advancement of bilateral cooperation, said a statement released by the PM's office.

"Germany is Serbia's largest external trade partner and a great potential and space for shaping that cooperation exists, above all, in economic aspects and in increasing German investments, which have a significant share in the Serbian economy," Vucevic said.

He said that, in spite of all challenges, the new Serbian government had a strategic commitment to continue to conduct a responsible policy of peace and stability in the region and to respect international law and the strategic goal of EU accession.

Vucevic noted that stability in the Western Balkans was crucial and voiced deep concern over the position of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija and the current situation in Serbia's southern province.

Congratulating Vucevic on his new post, Konrad noted Germany's commitment to advancement of overall bilateral cooperation.
