Vucic receives chairman of Maccabi Tel Aviv BC

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received the chairman of the Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club, Shimon Mizrahi, on Friday ahead of the Israeli outfit's EuroLeague clash with Serbia's Red Star Belgrade in the evening.

"I received the legendary chairman of Maccabi, the pride of Israel. Shimon Mizrahi has been the club's chairman for 56 years, one of the most reputable people in the world of basketball and a Hall of Famer," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.

He added that Israeli guests had thanked Serbia for the hospitality provided to Maccabi and other Israeli teams in difficult times.

"Serbia is free, and a country where there is no antisemitic sentiment whatsoever - that is how it has been, and that is how it will be in the future as well," Vucic wrote in the post.
