Gov't adopts bills amending legislation on residence and employment of foreigners

BELGRADE - The Serbian government on Thursday adopted bills amending the Law on Foreigners and the Law on Employment of Foreigners.

An official statement released after a government session said the move would enable foreign nationals to attain the right to temporary residence and work in Serbia through a unified procedure.

After the procedure, a unified residence and work permit will be issued to each applicant who meets the legal requirements.

"The issuance of a unified residence and work permit is fully digitalised as it can only be requested electronically. Also, a unified web portal will contain in one place all information related to the entry, residence and work of foreigners in Serbia," the statement said.
