Momirovic: Serbia to expand supply of agricultural products to China

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic said on Friday Serbia was firmly committed to developing its trade ties with China, and announced that the supply of agricultural products to the Chinese market would be expanded.

The goal is to further advance Serbian agriculture exports to China, he said.

"We have recognised the potential of the growing Chinese market and we intend to expand it and diversify the supply of agricultural products by offering good quality products at competitive prices," Momirovic said.

Since the establishment of the mechanism of cooperation between China and central and eastern European states, Serbia has been a very active and constructive partner in the initiative, he said.

"Compared to other countries, it has the largest number of projects with the Chinese side," Momirovic said, noting that Serbia was committed to further strengthening and development of cooperation as part of the mechanism.

Momirovic, who also co-chairs a Serbia-China commission on economic cooperation, noted that maximum efforts were being made to finalise the process of concluding a free trade agreement with China as soon as possible.
