Cvetkovic: Serbia regional leader in digitatlisation

BELGRADE, Dec 28 (Tanjug) - Serbia is the absolute regional leader in science, digitalisation and innovation, Minister of Economy Slobodan Cvetkovic said at a presentation of Serbia's progress in digitalisation, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (PKS) Digital Transformation Centre.

"The Digital Transformation Centre has already started working and it has a certain type of implementation and interaction with businesses. The centre requires us to enhance all those processes within the economy that lead towards digitalisation. This is just a part of a general, broader social process spearheaded by the Government of Serbia," he said.

He noted that the construction of a BIO4 Campus had begun on Wednesday and that the facility would be a kind of a regional hub for scientific and technological development.

"On the other hand, the authorities have invested large funds in science and technology parks in Novi Sad, Belgrade and Kragujevac. They, too, have an important role and an interaction with businesses," Cvetkovic said.
