BELGRADE- Digitalisation and further application of artificial intelligence (AI), as well as work on application of biotech and bioinformatics, are an integral part of Serbia's development plan unveiled by President Aleksandar Vucic at the weekend, Minister of Information and Telecommunications Mihailo Jovanovic told Tanjug on Tuesday.
Jovanovic said the construction of an innovation district in Kragujevac - to begin by the end of February - and the completion of a Lozionica innovation centre in Belgrade - slated for this year - would be the most important projects in these areas.
"We are preparing to begin by end-February the construction of the Innovation District in Kragujevac, a special business complex that will house a science and technology park, but there will also be space for startups from Kragujevac and across Serbia," Jovanovic said.
He also said the Lozionica (Bolier Room) complex would cater to the creative industries, digitalisation, innovation as well as to arts and culture.
Jovanovic said it would be a unique meeting point of science, arts, culture and digitalisation that was expected to become one of Belgrade's attractions.
